American prospect Keyshawn Davis (10-0, 7 KOs) commented on a potential bout against Ukrainian WBO lightweight champion (up to 61.2 kg) Denys Berinchyk (19-0, 9 KOs).
«A fight with Berinchyk would be incredible because he loves to fight, and I love to fight too. Naturally, a title fight would make me more aggressive. It would be a shootout that fans would love. When I posted about it, I got a lot of positive reactions from fans, so I think they’re excited. We need to make it happen this year.
I have the skills, ability, power, strength, and IQ. I’m a complete and smart fighter. My mentality is that it’s never boring in the ring. Berinchyk would bring out the best in me in a battle for my first title.
I’m a rising star in this sport. A big talent. I feel that no one can deny that now. They might say I’m inexperienced. That’s obvious. That’s why I’m calling for this world title fight right now. I’ll give the fans what they want – a new star in the sport so that it can continue to grow. I feel that Berinchyk and I would make a great fight,» said Davis.
On the night of May 19, Berinchyk won the WBO lightweight title by split decision against Emanuel Navarrete (38-2-1, 31 KOs).
Keyshawn Davis's next fight is scheduled for July 6 against Miguel Madueño (31-2, 28 KOs).
