Keyshawn Claims Teofimo Lopez Sent Him the Package

25-year-old WBO lightweight title challenger Keyshawn Davis has revealed that the person behind the controversial package—previously blamed on his opponent Denys Berinchyk—was actually WBO junior welterweight champion Teofimo Lopez. The package contained bananas and a watermelon.

"I heard that Teo did it. Teo (Teofimo Lopez). Man, you’ll do anything to stay relevant. Is this about taxes? Tax problems? The IRS is killing him. So now he’s trying to get paid?"

"You know, he was trying to get a fight with a world champion. He’s trying to go that route. Guess what? I’m not fighting you. I’m not helping you. No."

"I don’t care. I’m not helping you. You, bro, are a racist. At the end of the day, I’m not helping you."

"I don’t want to fight you, Teo. No. Go fight somebody else. Fight Claggett again."

Davis then admitted he felt bad for accusing Berinchyk:

"Sorry. My team and I were about to say this (that the package came from Teofimo) before he (Berinchyk) shoved me. I feel bad for saying it about him in front of the whole world. I get why they reacted that way—because they didn’t want to look racist. People talked to me, and now I understand—Ukrainians are respectful people."

📹 Following the press conference where Davis accused Berinchyk’s team of racism, Teofimo Lopez posted a video laughing about the situation while eating a banana. [VIDEO]

The Berinchyk vs. Davis fight is set for February 14. Detailed fight statistics and analysis available on RTFight right here.
