Keyshawn Davis: "I’d Be Grateful If Lomachenko Had His Last Fight Against Me"

WBO lightweight champion Keyshawn Davis (13-0, 9 KOs) has expressed his desire to face IBF and IBO titleholder Vasyl Lomachenko (18-3, 12 KOs) in what could be the Ukrainian's farewell fight.

"Lomachenko has had an incredible career. He’s done so much for boxing, and that’s enough. He could just retire and call it a day.

But if he wants to give me a shot, I’d be grateful if he had his last fight against me. That would be a huge moment and would say a lot. He can fight big names like Shakur Stevenson and Gervonta Davis—but I’m a big name, too. A fight with me would also make sense from a business standpoint.

I want to be back in the ring soon, before summer. I plan to fight three more times this year—you’ll be seeing a lot more of me," Davis said.

On February 14, Keyshawn Davis claimed the WBO lightweight title by knocking out Denys Berinchyk in the fourth round.

Vasyl Lomachenko, meanwhile, hasn’t fought since May, when he stopped George Kambosos Jr. in the 11th round, capturing the vacant IBF title and Kambosos’ IBO belt. The Ukrainian is currently recovering from an injury and holds a medical exemption from the IBF, allowing him to retain his title. It remains unclear whether Lomachenko will continue his career.
