Brian McIntyre, trainer of WBO lightweight champion Keyshawn Davis (13-0, 9 KOs), shared his thoughts on Denys Berinchyk’s (19-1, 9 KOs) performance in their fight.
- All good, man, all good. Keyshawn said he wanted to do this. He said he wanted to go out and knock him out. I told him that’s fine, but he had to do it in a smart way.
- Berinchyk is a pretty tough guy.
- He was trash.
- I mean in terms of durability—he’s tough.
- Yeah, he’s tough, he’s a tough guy. We all know that. But honestly, I thought he’d be better. I really did.
Keyshawn Davis stopped Berinchyk in the fourth round to claim the WBO world title. Full fight statistics available here.
