Former WBO Lightweight champion Keyshawn Davis issued an apology on Instagram for the recent events surrounding him. First, his bout with Edwin De Los Santos collapsed when he failed to make weight, and shortly thereafter he was involved in an altercation with Nahir Albright.
“For the past few weeks I’ve been re-evaluating my actions and I want to apologize to everyone I hurt. I let my fans down—especially the young people who looked up to me.
I’m going to be a better example. Thank you to everyone who still cares about me.”
Davis not only lost the fight with De Los Santos but was stripped of his championship belt as a result. He has since announced plans to move up in weight.
