Karen Chukhadzhian Offered Fight with Madrimov Instead of Ennis – Manager

On November 9, Ukrainian boxer Karen Chukhadzhian (24-2, 13 KOs) will face IBF super lightweight champion Jaron Ennis (32-0, 29 KOs).

Ready to Fight ambassador and Chukhadzhian's manager, Maxim Mikhaylov, revealed that Matchroom Boxing head Eddie Hearn, who represents Ennis, attempted to avoid the rematch by offering other opponents.

"They offered very little money for the fight. Very little. At first, they tried to pressure through the IBF to make the distribution of the purse completely humiliating. Then they offered a fight with Madrimov hoping we would voluntarily withdraw from the title fight. We said, 'No. We’ll see you at the bidding.' We showed a bit that we also have some value. That we’re not the only ones who are clever and calculating moves. We also know what we’re doing," said Mikhaylov.

In their first encounter in January 2023, Jaron Ennis defeated Karen Chukhadzhian by unanimous decision.
