Renowned American insider Rick Glazer reported that the fight between IBF and IBO lightweight champion (up to 61,2 kg) Vasyl Lomachenko (18-3, 12 KOs) and George Kambosos (21-3, 10 KOs) showed poor sales results. As a result, the Australian former champion will receive a significantly smaller purse.
"Wow, the PPV for Lomachenko vs. Kambosos in Australia completely failed, gathering just 14 thousand purchases. This was largely because it was Sunday, Mother's Day, in Australia. George Kambosos's purse depended solely on PPV revenue. No financial guarantees, nothing from ticket sales. Kambosos will earn only about $500,000!!!
And to Peter Kahn, Kambosos's former manager, George owes $350,000 based on a recent court ruling. Overall, Kambosos will walk away with nothing. Loma was not involved in the PPV revenue. He smartly received a guaranteed purse from his promoter Top Rank," Glazer wrote.
On May 12th, Lomachenko won by technical knockout against George Kambosos and claimed the IBF and IBO lightweight titles.
