The former absolute champion of the world in lightweight George Kambosos declared his readiness to hold a fight with the ex-champion of the world in three divisions Vasyl Lomachenko.
"I want to face Lomachenko in the ring regardless of what he does next and how he performed in his last fight against Jemaine Ortiz, which we saw was very ordinary."
"I still want to meet this man. Styles make fights, and it's going to be an exciting fight."
Kambosos lost twice to Devin Haney for the WBC, WBA Super, IBF and WBO lightweight titles. In the second fight in Melbourne, all the judges gave victory to Haney: 119–109, 118–110, 118–110.
Vasyl Lomachenko could have held a title match with Kambosos, but he refused it against the background of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Lomachenko defeated American Jemaine Ortiz in his last fight. It was the first and only match for the Ukrainian in 10 months.
According to the results of the fight, all three judges gave victory to Lomachenko - 115:113, 116:112 and 117:111. For the Ukrainian, this victory was the 17th in the professional ring, for the American, the loss was the first in the professional arena.
Devin himself repeatedly declared his readiness to meet Lomachenko in the ring. It is known that the parties are already negotiating on holding the fight in 2023.
