Julio César Chávez Jr. Could Be Deported from the United States — Fighter Arrested

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has confirmed that Julio César Chávez Jr. has been taken into custody by Homeland Security Investigations. An expedited-removal case has been opened that could see the Mexican former world champion deported.

According to the DHS statement, Chávez Jr. is the subject of an outstanding arrest warrant in Mexico for alleged involvement in organised crime and trafficking of firearms, ammunition and explosives.

Authorities also allege links between Chávez Jr. and the Sinaloa Cartel, an organisation designated as a foreign terrorist entity.
