Carl Froch Believes Joe Joyce Should Consider Retirement

On his YouTube channel Froch on Fighting, former boxer and expert Carl Froch shared his views on the career of British heavyweight boxer Joe Joyce (16-2, 15 KOs).

"I think he fought, won, and was busy as usual, but he took too many hits to the chin. We saw this when he stepped up to the world level. Zhang Zhilei defeated him twice, and the second knockout was bad. That knockout is concerning. I wanted to see how he would come back, move his head, work on his defense and body. He needs to keep his hands up and work on his movements. But you can't teach an old dog new tricks. Joe Joyce showed me in this fight that he should probably think about hanging up his gloves," Froch commented.

On March 17, Joe Joyce returned to the ring successfully after two consecutive early losses. His opponent was Kash Ali (21-3, 12 KOs). The fight ended at 2 minutes and 53 seconds of the tenth, final round, with Joyce knocking out his opponent seven seconds before the end of the match. Last year, Joyce had two fights and lost both by early knockout to Zhang Zhilei (26-2-1, 21 KOs).
