British heavyweight Dillian Whyte has shared his thoughts on a potential fight between his former rival Anthony Joshua and Martin Bakole, one of the possible contenders for a heavyweight title shot.
"I think it’s a great fight. Everyone keeps saying this is a dangerous fight for Anthony, but I don’t see it that way. Bakole is very confident—after sparring sessions, after his last two or three performances.
I actually think this works in Joshua’s favor. I believe Bakole will come forward with his hands down, trying to fight the same way he did against Jared Anderson. But he’ll walk into a big shot and get knocked out.
"oshua is a powerful puncher. If you stand in front of him, he’ll knock you out. He won’t even need to go looking for Bakole—Bakole will be right there in front of him. Joshua usually struggles more with fighters who move well and have good technique," Whyte said.
Joshua and Whyte faced off in 2015, with Joshua knocking out Whyte in the seventh round.
