Eddie Hearn, promoter for Anthony Joshua, shared his mentee's reaction to the prospect of a fight with Tyson Fury, the WBC titleholder. According to Hearn, Joshua did not take the offer seriously, responding with amusement.
"They didn't send a contract. Instead, George Warren sent a formal request by email, indicating his desire to stage a fight in September under the previously discussed terms," Hearn revealed during an interview with the YouTube channel iFL TV.
In response to such a proposal, Anthony Joshua brought up his scheduled bouts in August and December. Despite this, Hearn pointed out that he would still consider the feasibility of this match.
