Joshua: "Remember How I Came into This Sport"

In a revealing session with DAZN Boxing, former world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua (27-3, 24 KOs) brushes aside comments suggesting Francis Ngannou (0-1) emerged from obscurity, while drawing parallels between his own ascent in the sport and that of the Cameroonian contender.

"Recall how I entered this sport. I came from nowhere, and within three years, I was at the Olympics, clinching the gold medal. Another three years down the line, I became the world champion. Life has been a series of remarkable events, but here I am now. I'm a different beast. I'm ready," Joshua articulated with conviction.

March 8 marks a pivotal moment as Anthony Joshua steps into the ring for the first time in 2024 to face Francis Ngannou (0-1). Last year was a triumphant one for Joshua, who entered the ring thrice and secured three victories: a unanimous decision over Jermaine Franklin Jr. (22-2, 14 KOs), a knockout against Robert Helenius (32-5, 21 KOs), and a win over Otto Wallin (26-2, 14 KOs) after the Swede was unable to continue. For Ngannou, this upcoming bout represents his second venture into professional boxing.
