In a comment for IFL TV, former heavyweight champion British boxer Anthony Joshua (28-3, 25 KOs) shared his desire to maintain the level of activity he started last year.
According to Joshua, he would like to have his next fight in June or July 2024. He also didn't rule out the possibility of fighting Croatian Filip Hrgovic (17-0, 14 KOs), who is the official contender for the IBF belt. Joshua is currently ranked third in the Federation's ranking, with the second spot currently vacant.
Anthony didn't exclude the possibility that the winner of the Usyk-Fury pair might be stripped of the IBF title if they announce a rematch. In that case, his fight against Hrgovic would become a title match. So far, the IBF has neither confirmed nor denied such a possibility.
Joshua fought three times in 2023 and has already boxed against Francis Ngannou this year, winning by knockout in the second round. Usyk and Fury will compete for the status of the undisputed champion on May 18.
