On March 8th in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, a heavyweight clash will take place between former champion Anthony Joshua (27-3, 24 KOs) and Francis Ngannou (0-1). Joshua is confident that a victory over Francis will grant him the opportunity to reclaim the championship.
"I chose Ngannou because I want to fight for the world title again. I aim to steer my career towards the championship, and this fight leads me to it.
I must defeat Ngannou, and once I do, I will be lined up for a world title fight. In this sense, boxing is like a ladder: you win and climb up, or you lose and come down," Joshua stated.
In his last bout in December of the previous year, Anthony Joshua defeated Otto Wallin (26-2, 14 KOs). Ngannou lost to WBC champion Tyson Fury (34-0-1, 24 KOs) by split decision.
