Joshua on Knockout by Dubois: "He Just Caught Me with a Good Shot"

Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua (28-3, 25 KOs) and IBF titleholder Daniel Dubois (21-2, 20 KOs) commented on the information that Daniel knocked out Anthony during sparring several years ago.

Joshua stated that it happened during training with the Olympic team, but there was no knockout involved.

"I know Daniel from the Great Britain Olympic team. I had just turned professional but stayed close to the British team. I was still training there, so we sparred. It was good sparring. All this talk trying to catch me out... He just caught me with a good shot, but I stayed on my feet. I don't know where this story about someone knocking me out came from. There were a lot of people in the gym that day, and they all came out and said nothing happened. I'm not saying he has a chance to do it on September 21, because sometimes what you say becomes reality, but I won't let that happen and I'll show how good I am. Whether in the ring during sparring or in the ring during the fight, I won't let anyone break me or try to knock me out. No way," said Joshua.

Dubois said he is not interested in the past and is focused only on the upcoming match. "I don't want to talk about it. It happened seven years ago, and to be honest, I don't remember it. I'm not here to spar with him, I'm here to fight him. So let's focus on the bout," said Daniel.

The fight between Anthony Joshua and Daniel Dubois will take place on September 21 at Wembley Stadium in London, UK. The winner of the fight will likely face the victor of the rematch between Tyson Fury (34-1-1, 24 KOs) and the WBA, WBC, WBO, and IBO heavyweight titleholder Oleksandr Usyk (22-0, 14 KOs).
