Reyes and Ngxeke crowned the new holder of Nakatani’s former title

On the night of December 14 in Mexico City, Mexico, a bout for the vacant IBF bantamweight title (up to 53.5 kg / 118 lb) took place between hometown fighter Jose Salas Reyes (17-0, 11 KOs) and South Africa’s Landile Ngxeke (16-2-1, 8 KOs).

In the 7th round, Reyes trapped his opponent on the ropes and poured on punches, after which the referee stopped the fight — TKO 7.

Ngxeke had last lost in October 2022. The African fighter’s winning streak had stretched to seven bouts.
