Referee wasn’t too quick: John Fury believes Parker should have been stopped sooner

John Fury, father of former heavyweight world champion Tyson Fury, believes the referee’s stoppage in the Fabio Wardley vs Joseph Parker bout came too late — not too early, as some critics claim.

“Premature stoppage? Anyone saying that doesn’t understand boxing — their licenses should be taken away.

In my opinion, it was actually the opposite. I think the referee stopped the fight too late. It should’ve been done about 10 seconds earlier, because Joseph absorbed completely unnecessary shots. And he took them from Wardley — a guy who can punch a hole through a wall,” Fury said.
