American heavyweight prospect Jared Anderson (16-0, 15 KOs) has commented for the first time on his arrest.
"I want to apologize for my recent actions; I was emotional – it's no excuse. I want to thank ESPN and all their staff for always supporting me.
I also want to apologize to Bob Arum and my entire Top Rank family. I can only pray that everyone will forgive me," Anderson wrote.
On March 1, 2024, Anderson was arrested for fleeing police at high speed. According to police, his speed exceeded 200 km/h (approximately 124 mph), and the chase ended when Jared crashed into a guardrail. Subsequently, the boxer paid a $10,000 bail and was preliminarily released.
The American's next fight is scheduled for April 13th against Belgian Riad Merhy.
