On October 14th in Rosenberg, USA, the anticipated middleweight unification match between WBO champion, Kazakh boxer Janibek Alimkhanuly (14-0, 9 KOs), and IBF champion, German Vincenzo Gualtieri (21-0-1, 7 KOs) will take place.

Alimkhanuly became the WBO world champion in 2022. After initially winning the "temporary" champion title in the spring, he solidified his position as the full-fledged champion by year's end, prevailing over American Denzel Bentley in a judges decision. Gualtieri secured the IBF title during the summer of 2023, triumphing by judges' decision over the previously undefeated Brazilian, Esquiva Falcao.

Both Alimkhanuly and Gualtieri are 30 years old, though the Kazakh champion possesses a slight size advantage.
