Insider Reveals Janibek Alimkhanuly’s Next Opponent

Insider Dan Rafael has shared information about the next opponent for WBO and IBF middleweight champion Janibek Alimkhanuly (16-0, 11 KOs).

Rafael reported that Janibek is set to fight in Kazakhstan in April or May against Britain’s unbeaten contender Shakiel Thompson (13-0, 9 KOs).

“According to sources, unified middleweight champion Janibek Alimkhanuly is close to finalizing an agreement to defend his title against undefeated Englishman Shakiel Thompson in April/May in his home country of Kazakhstan, where he hasn’t fought since his second professional bout in 2017. Thompson is scheduled to have a tune-up fight on February 7,” wrote Rafael.

In October, Janibek Alimkhanuly defeated Andrey Mikhailovich via ninth-round TKO. In September, Shakiel Thompson stopped River Wilson-Bent with a third-round TKO.
