The fight between 29-year-old Olympic champion Bakhodir Jalolov (9-0, 9 KOs) and 33-year-old Croatian Agron Smakici (20-2, 18 KOs) has been cancelled.
It was scheduled to take place on April 14th in Tashkent.
"I want to announce that my fight on April 14th has been cancelled. The main focus will now be on the upcoming Olympic Games in Paris. Thank you very much to everyone who supports me in any way," Jalolov was quoted by journalist Jalolo Akhmetov. Jalolov last fought in the professional ranks in the fall of 2023, knocking out Chris Thompson in the first round. Smakic, in September 2023, knocked out Joseph Kormani in the second round. After that, during a sparring session with Tyson Fury, he caused a cut on Fury's eyebrow, which led to the postponement of the fight against Oleksandr Usyk from February 17th to May 18th.
