Blogger and boxer Jake Paul (9-1, 6 KOs) plans to fight former UFC fighter Mike Perry (0-1) on July 20, reports Happy Punch citing sources in Jake's camp.
Perry's only professional boxing match took place in March 2015, in which he lost by knockout in the 4th round to Kenneth McNeil (13-5, 10 KOs).
Initially, a fight between Jake Paul and former undisputed champion Mike Tyson (50-6, 44 KOs) was scheduled for July 20 in Arlington, Texas, USA. The bout was officially sanctioned as a professional heavyweight fight (over 90.7 kg), and the result was to be recorded in the athletes' records. However, due to Tyson's ulcer flare-up, the event was postponed.
Iron Mike, who will turn 58 on June 30, was advised to avoid physical exertion for the next few weeks, resulting in the new fight date being set for November 15.
Medical experts have also warned that Tyson's participation in professional bouts is life-threatening. A single punch could rupture the ulcer, causing gastric fluid to spill into the abdominal cavity, leading to injuries that would require immediate surgical intervention.
After the official announcement of the fight's postponement, Tyson stated, "While we had to postpone the fight, I will resume training soon. We have a new date, but the result will be the same. No matter when we fight – I will knock out Jake Paul."
