Jake on His Next Fight: "Announcement Coming Next Week"

Cruiserweight boxer and YouTuber Jake Paul has confirmed that a showdown with WBA lightweight champion Gervonta Davis was indeed in the pipeline. He also revealed when fans can expect news about his next bout.

"There was a lot of talk about it, everything was deep in negotiations and almost finalized. But now he needs to handle the rematch with Lamont and get the win. Then we can revisit that fight. But yes, Gervonta and I were supposed to fight — that’s a fact.

The announcement will be next week. I'm not leaking anything — these fights have fallen apart at the last moment twice already. First it was Canelo Álvarez, then Gervonta. So I just don’t want to jinx it, and I’ll keep quiet for now," Paul said.

On March 1, Gervonta Davis and Roach fought to a draw. Jake was in attendance for the bout.
