Official: Jai Opetaia to Face Claudio Squeo

It’s official: IBF cruiserweight champion Jai Opetaia (27-0, 21 KOs), the undefeated 29-year-old Australian, will face Italy’s Claudio Squeo (17-0, 9 KOs) on May 13 in Australia.

Squeo, 34, is also unbeaten and has already fought twice in 2024—first winning a decision over Niklas Rasanen, then scoring a second-round knockout over Orlando de Jesus Estrada.

This will be Opetaia’s second fight of 2025. In his previous outing, he knocked out David Nyika in the 4th round.
