Opetaia Could Face Chisora – Manager Reveals Details

Manager of IBF Cruiserweight Champion Jai Opetaia, Mick Francis, shared potential plans for the fighter’s career.

“I spoke with the IBF – they confirmed that Jai will immediately become No. 3 in the Heavyweight rankings. Turki also wants to make a fight with Chisora.

We also talked with Queensberry – they’re interested. It would be a big show, but Chisora will ask for huge money. Even though he has no chance against Opetaia. Jai will break him.

Opetaia wants to go down in history as one of the greatest Cruiserweights. Just like Holyfield, Haye, or Usyk, he aims to first dominate this division, and only then move up to Heavyweight,” said Francis.

Previously, the IBF ordered Jai Opetaia (28-0, 22 KOs) to face 40-year-old mandatory challenger Huseyin Cinkara (23-0, 19 KOs). Dereck Chisora (36-13, 23 KOs) has not lost since 2022, during which he defeated Joe Joyce, Otto Wallin, and Gerald Washington.
