Is Itauma Ready for Usyk? Top Promoter Responds

Alexander Krassyuk, promoter of two-time undisputed world champion Oleksandr Usyk, has weighed in on whether a fight between 20-year-old British prospect Moses Itauma and his star client is realistic.

I don’t think it’s realistic. With all due respect to Itauma, he’s not ready to face Usyk yet.

But on the other hand, he is the future of boxing. This guy is an enormous talent, and I believe that in a few years, he’ll dominate the sport.

– How do you think he would fare against a top-10 opponent? Say, Daniel Dubois, Tyson Fury, or Anthony Joshua?

It’s hard to say. He’s very young, though undeniably talented and experienced. But he still has a lot to learn and go through.

I’d say the best approach for him right now is to progress step by step, and within a few years, he could become a global star, Krassyuk stated.

Itauma fought on the undercard of Usyk vs. Fury 2, delivering a stunning first-round knockout against Demsey McKean.
