British Heavyweight prospect Moses Itauma says he would like to follow the same path as unbeaten five-weight world champion Floyd Mayweather.
“He made a lot of money in this sport, left it with his mind intact, without damage, and nobody can say: ‘Yeah, I beat him.’ That’s the career I want. When people aren’t confident in themselves, they try to plant doubt, put a bit of pressure on someone, hoping they’ll break, because it makes them feel better.
Floyd Mayweather was a great boxer. His record is 50-0, and it annoys insecure people. They don’t want to accept that reality, so they try to pressure him to make a mistake, just to feel some relief. I don’t look at it that way. I think: ‘Wow, he achieved incredible things,’” said Itauma.
On August 16, Moses Itauma (12-0, 10 KOs) will face Dillian Whyte in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
