Eddie Hearn, the head of Matchroom Boxing promotion, has offered his opinion on why the WBC world heavyweight champion, Tyson Fury, and the WBA, WBO, and IBF title holder, Oleksandr Usyk, will not be fighting in Saudi Arabia.
He stated that the fight will not be held in the Middle East due to the fact that the parties involved are unwilling to pay the boxers the necessary amount.
"The fight [Fury-Usyk] is not big enough. It's not big enough to generate the kind of money that Fury wants because it doesn't involve Anthony Joshua. Only Joshua can bring in that kind of money.
But hopefully, we can make a Tyson Fury versus Anthony Joshua fight happen, and then Tyson will get the numbers he wants. Perhaps the Saudis will definitely want to pay the money," Boxing News 24 quoted Hearn as saying.
