Ukrainian boxer Artem Dalakyan will defend his WBA world bantamweight title against Costa Rican David Jimenez in January 2023
This is reported by BoxingScene.
According to the vice-president of the promotion company Union Boxing Dmytro Eliseyev, the fight will take place in January 2023 in Europe.
"A preliminary agreement has been reached on the fight, which should take place at the end of January in Europe. We are currently working on the final agreement," Yelyseev said.
The agreement between the world champion in the lightest weight (up to 50.9 kg) Artem Dalakyan and David Jimenez allowed the boxers to avoid bidding for the right to fight.
The fight was scheduled for August 31, 2022, but the Ukrainian and the Costa Rican could not agree on the meeting place.
In total, 35-year-old Dalakyan won 21 victories and did not suffer a single defeat. He holds the WBA title since 2018. Jimenez, 30, has 12 wins and no losses.
