British boxer Tyson Fury, the reigning WBC world heavyweight champion, shared his views on the cancellation of his fight with Ukrainian boxer Oleksandr Usyk, holder of the WBA, WBO, and IBF titles in the same weight category.
Fury suggested that Usyk declined the fight due to the potential for a hefty payout if the bout were to take place in Saudi Arabia.
"There’s a lot of stuff going on with Saudi Arabia and all these massive amounts of money being talked about. I just think the temptation of making 100 million or 75 million down the line, rather than doing it now, got the better of him," Fury stated.
He further emphasized that the fight should still occur this year, viewing it merely as part of the job.
