Former world champion and now popular boxing analyst Johnny Nelson provided an exclusive prediction for Ready to Fight on the upcoming bout between undisputed super bantamweight champion Naoya Inoue (27-0, 24 KOs) and TJ Doheny (26-4, 20 KOs).
"The undefeated 'Monster' Inoue—this guy is undefeated for a reason. He is feared for a reason. He's a true machine, a fighting machine. Even when he’s losing a battle, gets knocked down, or takes a hit—everyone saw it for the first time—he gets back up, returns, and wins by knockout. He always finds a way to win, if not dominate and terrify. TJ Doheny, he steps into the ring, and people look at him and think he's a veteran. You shouldn’t write him off.
You know, he's been quite successful on Japanese soil. I believe he’s fought four times in Japan and won all four. Not many fighters can do that as a guest. This is going to be a fantastic battle. But I think Inoue will do what he always does.
They step into the ring, get the job done. He’ll do it in devastating fashion, remain undefeated, but it will be an exciting fight because all of his fights are like that," Nelson said.
The bout between Naoya Inoue and TJ Doheny is set for September 3 in Tokyo, Japan. Detailed fight statistics and analysis from Ready to Fight are available here.
