According to The Ring, undisputed super bantamweight champion Naoya Inoue (29-0, 26 KOs) has a two-fight plan lined up for this year:
– May 4 – T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas, USA. Inoue will defend his titles against American contender Ramon Cardenas (26-1, 14 KOs).
– September 14 – Tokyo, Japan (if victorious in May). Inoue is set to face former champion Murodjon Akhmadaliev (13-1, 10 KOs) in a high-profile clash.
The fight against Cardenas takes place during Cinco de Mayo weekend, a significant date in Mexican history, commemorating the Battle of Puebla in 1862.
