Inoue vs. Nery: Undercard Fighters Announced

On March 6th, Top Rank announced that the undisputed super bantamweight champion (up to 55,2 kg) Naoya Inoue (26-0, 23 KOs) will defend his titles against Mexican Luis Nery (35-1, 27 KOs) on May 6th at the Tokyo Dome. Alongside this main event, three other title confrontations are scheduled:

– WBO bantamweight world champion (up to 53,5 kg) Jason Moloney (27-2, 19 KOs) against Yoshiki Takei (8-0, 8 KOs);

Takuma Inoue (19-1, 5 KOs) will defend the WBA bantamweight title against Sho Ishida (34-3, 17 KOs);

– WBA minimumweight world champion (up to 50,8 kg) Seigo Akui (19-2-1, 11 KOs) will make his first title defense against Taku Kuwahara (13-1, 8 KOs).

Naoya Inoue became the undisputed world super bantamweight champion in December 2023 by knocking out Marlon Tapales (37-4, 19 KOs) in the 10th round. This will be the Monster's first defense of the undisputed title in this division.
