Inoue Explains Why Fights in Japan Are More Profitable Than in the USA

The undisputed champion in the junior bantamweight division (up to 55.2 kg), Japanese Naoya Inoue (26-0, 23 KOs), explained why hosting fights in Japan is more profitable than in the USA.

"Now, if you achieve success in Japan, you can make millions even in the lighter weight divisions. That's why Stephen Fulton came to Japan. Big fights are easier to hold in Japan.

Everyone wants to fight in Japan. I feel like everything is shifting in this direction. Initially, everyone wanted to box in America because there was a chance to make big money thanks to systems like PPV.

Today, Japan has become a stage where fighters from lighter categories aspire to compete," Inoue shared.

Naoya last boxed in the USA in 2021. After that, he has had five fights in Japan.
