The undisputed super flyweight champion (up to 55.2 kg) from Japan, Naoya Inoue (26-0, 23 KOs), discussed the likelihood of a match with WBA lightweight champion (up to 61.2 kg) Gervonta Davis (29-0, 27 KOs).
"I always want to show the best Naoya Inoue. I wouldn't fight at super featherweight (up to 58.96 kg) just because the money is good. There are many fighters who chased the money but ultimately couldn't perform well and ended with boxing. I box not for the money. I suppose there's a reason weight classes exist in boxing," Inoue stated to The Ring. The Japanese fighter had previously announced plans to fight three times in 2024.
