
Japanese boxer Naoya Inoue (26-0, 23 KOs), the undisputed world champion, has been named the Fighter of the Year by ESPN.
On December 26th, he knocked out Marlon Tapales, becoming the second undisputed world champion in two divisions in the era of four belts. The best male fight of the year was recognized as the bout between Ukrainian middleweight Sergey Derevyanchenko and Mexican Jaime Munguia. Derevyanchenko lost by unanimous decision.
The Coach of the Year award goes to Brian McIntyre – the mentor of Terence Crawford, leading him to the historic achievement of double undisputed championships.
