Double Camp Delay Proves Beneficial: Inoue Reveals Preparation Details

Two-time undisputed world champion and current super bantamweight king Naoya Inoue (28-0, 25 KOs) claims he is in peak condition heading into his fight against South Korean contender Ye Joon Kim (21-2-2, 13 KOs), thanks to two delays in the fight’s schedule.

"When I adjusted my schedule, I felt that preparing my body for such a long time was a huge advantage.

I think making these kinds of adjustments before big fights will be better in the future. That’s why I believe the two postponements and the one-month delay worked in my favor.

From a stylistic perspective, I get the impression that he’s a switch-hitter during fights. I just want to rely on everything I’ve learned in my 25-year boxing career and give it my all on fight day," Inoue said.

Initially, Inoue was slated to face Sam Goodman. However, the fight was first postponed from December 24 to January 24 due to Goodman’s injury. It was later canceled entirely after Goodman suffered another injury.
