Krassyuk's Ultimatum: Usyk-Fury Fight's Fate Hangs on May 18

The promoter of WBA, WBO, IBO, and IBF heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk (21-0, 14 KOs), Alex Krassyuk, has stated that May 18 might be the final call for the fight against Tyson Fury (34-0-1, 24 KOs). Krassyuk emphasizes that it might be off the table for good if the clash doesn't go down on that date.

When asked about the likelihood of Usyk vs. Fury happening if the May 18 fight falls through:

"It's tough to say. Are we talking about the Usyk-Fury fight, or the bout for the absolute title between Oleksandr and Tyson?"

Referring specifically to Fury vs. Usyk:

"If it doesn't happen on May 18, I believe it never will."

On the reasoning behind this belief:

"I've said this before, even before April 29. If it didn't happen then, it wouldn't happen at all because of the IBF. But the Turks and the Saudis extended that period. However, this time frame is finite. That's why May 18 is the ultimate deadline for the fight for the absolute," Krassyuk explained to Boxing News.
