The IBF obliged Usyk to meet the mandatory challenger Hrhovych

The International Boxing Federation (IBF) obliged the WBA, WBO, IBF and IBO heavyweight champion of the Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk (20-0, 13 KOs) to meet with the mandatory contender from Croatia Filip Hrgovich (14-0, 12 KOs ).

According to the Boxing Scene publication, Hrgovich defeated Zhang Zhilei from China in August and won the status of a mandatory contender for the IBF world champion title.

Usyk is known to hold the WBA, WBO, IBF and IBO championship titles, which he won in his first fight with ex-champion Anthony Joshua and subsequently successfully defended them in August this year in a rematch against the Englishman.

After the victory over Joshua Wick challenged the British WBC belt holder Tyson Fury to a fight.

In turn, the promoter Frank Warren said that the Ukrainian will be Fury's next opponent after the fight with the British Derek Chisora, which is scheduled for December 3. Tyson himself said that in 2023 he will have three fights, one of them - with Usyk.
