The International Boxing Federation (IBF) has extended the negotiation period between Frank Sanchez and Richard Torrez Jr. This will be an eliminator bout—the winner will become the mandatory challenger for Oleksandr Usyk.
Originally, the parties had a deadline until January 6, but the Federation allowed for an extension instead of calling for a purse bid. BoxingScene reported that both sides believe an agreement will be reached within a few days.
Sanchez (25-1, 18 KOs), 33, fought once in 2025, knocking out Ramon Olivas. Torrez (13-0, 11 KOs) secured two victories last year, defeating Guido Vianello and Tomas Salek.
