IBF Eliminator Purse Bid: Ajagba vs. Sanchez

The International Boxing Federation (IBF) has held a purse bid for the final eliminator in the Heavyweight division between Nigeria’s Efe Ajagba and Cuba’s Frank Sanchez, reports insider Dan Rafael.

Sampson Boxing, represented by Sampson Lewkowicz, submitted the winning bid of $302,000, while Top Rank Boxing’s Carl Moretti offered $210,000. The purse split will be 60-40 in favor of Ajagba.

The winner of this clash will become the mandatory challenger for the IBF title currently held by the undisputed Heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk.

In May, Efe Ajagba (20-1-1, 14 KOs) fought Martin Bakole to a majority draw.

Frank Sanchez (25-1, 18 KOs) last stepped into the ring in February, stopping Ramon Olivas Echeverria in the third round — avenging the lone defeat of his career, suffered against Agit Kabayel in May 2024.

Sanchez and Ajagba have already crossed paths once before: in October 2021, the Cuban came out on top by unanimous decision, dropping Ajagba in the seventh round.
