British boxing promoter Eddie Hearn has opened up about a fiery exchange with heavyweight Jarrell Miller during a press conference for the upcoming December 23 boxing night in Saudi Arabia: "So, he struts up to me on stage, trying to play the tough guy: 'Feeling scared now?' And I'm like, 'Scared? Of you? I know your game.' He asks, 'Why not back me like you did Conor Benn?' My comeback? 'Because I don't buy your story, mate.'
Then he tries to intimidate: 'Next time you're in New York, we'll see.' I just shot back with a 'Get lost.' And that was that.
Honestly, I've got no beef with Jarrell Miller. But let's be real, Joshua gave him a pass. I'd have told him straight if I were Anthony: 'You blew it with your shenanigans, trying to one-up me. So, hit the road, pal.'
But who knows if Miller knocks out Dubois and the crowd's howling for more? Joshua may step up again. That's his call," Hearn muses to Seconds Out.
Backstory? Joshua was all set to face Miller in 2019, but Miller goofed up with a failed dope test. Anthony then squared off with Andy Ruiz, marking his first career loss.
Fast forward to December 23: Anthony Joshua's squaring off with Otto Wallin, while Jarrell Miller and Daniel Dubois duke it out on Saudi's big Boxing Night.
