Hughes Deported Before Fight with Sepeda

British boxer Maxi Hughes (26-6-2, 5 KOs) shared that he was deported from the USA prior to his bout against Mexican William Sepeda (30-0, 26 KOs).

He arrived in Las Vegas well ahead of the scheduled fight but was deported due to visa issues. Hughes managed to return to the US only on Tuesday – four days before the fight.

The showdown concluded after the fourth round. Sepeda dominated his opponent from the get-go, and after the fourth round, Hughes' corner did not allow him to continue.

Following the match, Sepeda became the mandatory challenger for the WBA and IBF lightweight titles (up to 61.2 kg).
