IBO Middleweight Champion Chris Eubank Jr. has commented on Conor Benn’s behavior following their first fight, saying his rival acted as if he had been the one to win.
“He celebrated more than I did. I was just relaxing. Meanwhile, he was out partying, traveling to America, sitting front row at shows, taking pictures, signing autographs. It looked like he was the one who’d won, not me.
He’s dreaming. But you know, as fighters, we sometimes have to be a little crazy. That’s what drives us to the top. A little bit of madness never hurts,” said Eubank Jr.
The first fight between Chris Eubank Jr. (35-3, 25 KOs) and Conor Benn (23-1, 14 KOs) took place on April 26 and ended with Eubank’s unanimous decision victory — all three judges scoring it 116–112.
The rematch is scheduled for November 15 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, United Kingdom.
