Hrgovic Claims Usyk Took the Greedy Spot of Fury

Croatian boxer Filip Hrgovic (17-0, 14 KOs), the mandatory challenger for the IBF heavyweight title, is unhappy that undisputed world champion Oleksandr Usyk (22-0, 14 KOs) has filed a request for an exemption from the IBF rule regarding mandatory defenses to retain the belt for a rematch against Tyson Fury (34-1-1, 24 KOs).

«Usyk has already been given many exceptions. Now it's my turn. Now he has become a greedy pig,» said Hrgovic.

Hrgovic and Daniel Dubois will face each other on June 1. On the line will be either the status of mandatory challenger for the IBF title or an interim IBF belt.

The Usyk-Fury rematch is scheduled for December 21.
