Alexander Krassyuk, the head of K2 and CBDO of Ready To Fight, discussed the fight between WBA, WBO, IBF, and IBO heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk and WBC champion Tyson Fury (34-0-1, 24 KOs). He mentioned that IBF mandatory contender Filip Hrgović (17-0, 14 KOs) is required to replace any fighter who may drop out of the match, despite having a fight scheduled for June 1st for the Croatian himself.
"We pray that Fury wears a helmet during sparring sessions—not like last time when he got a cut. It was real, and as for the video—I don't trust it. I think Tyson Fury didn't wear a helmet and got the cut, but that's just my opinion. I have no proof. It's a guess.
IBF mandatory contender Filip Hrgović will step in if Fury does this again. He's preparing for Daniel Dubois on June 1st, but he must be ready on May 18th to replace Tyson for any reason. Otherwise, we might lose the IBF title.
This was one of our conditions. The goal is to be the undisputed champion. It's not about the money—it's about the legacy, the glory. Tyson Fury says he doesn't care, but at the press conference he said: 'Wow, the IBF, WBO, WBC, WBA, Ring magazine, undisputed, lineal titles are at stake.' I've never heard of such a thing," said Krassyuk.
Usyk and Fury are set to meet on May 18th in Saudi Arabia. Hrgović has scheduled a fight against Dubois on June 1st, also in Riyadh.
