Former world champion Joseph Parker, 33, shared his thoughts on the outcome of his October 25 bout against Fabio Wardley in London, United Kingdom.
“He’s a strong man. As I said before the fight, he was confident, believed in himself, and showed he’s a warrior. So all I can do is congratulate Fabio Wardley and wish him all the best in the future. I hope we can have a rematch — that’s how it is.
Losing a fight is unpleasant. I won’t sit here and pretend I’m happy, but life goes on. Boxing is part of my job, but I’m very thankful to have a wife, kids, and a happy family — so I’ll go back to them, regroup, and see what comes next. But I want to congratulate my opponent, because he won the fight honestly and fairly, and now he moves on to bigger challenges,” said Parker.
The showdown between Fabio Wardley (20-0-1, 19 KOs) and Joseph Parker (36-4, 24 KOs) ended in the 11th round. At the moment of the stoppage, Parker was ahead on two of the three judges’ scorecards.
