Former world champion and boxing legend Evander Holyfield commented on Oleksandr Usyk's (22-0, 14 KOs) victory over Tyson Fury (34-1-1, 24 KOs) in their bout for the undisputed heavyweight championship (over 90.7 kg).
"It was a very interesting fight. Both fighters showed something I had never seen before. For the first time in my life, I saw Tyson Fury beaten this badly. But we all know how well Fury can recover. I understand that both guys gave it their all, they did everything they could. Everyone is satisfied with this fight.
I am sure that both will make adjustments, and in the rematch, we will see something new. Boxing is a complicated thing. You don't know what your opponent has prepared for you, but you try to show the best you have," said Holyfield.
The fight between Usyk and Fury lasted all 12 rounds and ended with the Ukrainian winning by split decision. Oleksandr Usyk is the first undisputed heavyweight champion since November 13, 1999, when Lennox Lewis defeated Evander Holyfield in their rematch.
