Hitchins Defeats Paro to Become IBF Champion: Fight Statistic

In the early hours of December 8 in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Matchroom Boxing hosted an event headlined by the IBF junior welterweight title bout (up to 63.5 kg) between Australia’s Liam Paro (25-1, 15 KOs) and America’s Richardson Hitchins (19-0, 7 KOs).

Both fighters entered the ring undefeated in 2024, each with a notable victory earlier in the year. In June, Liam Paro claimed the title from Subriel Matias, while Richardson Hitchins defeated Gustavo Lemos two months prior.

The fight went the distance, concluding with a split decision victory for Hitchins.
